New School Year 2012

School is starting in a few more days and I’m not sure if I’m supposed to be happy, excited, sad or angry… School can be stressful and also wonderful at the same time.. It all depends on how you spend your day in school.
Amazingly, school will start pretty early next year, 3rd Jan (Tuesday), immediately after New Year’s Day.. School will start on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays as per normal but on Wednesdays… HOHOHO MERRY BELATED CHRISTMAS?? School will start a little later, 8:45am! But I don’t know if that’s something to be celebrating about.. It could probably mean that school will end later and CCA will have to be pushed to another day. If CCA has to be pushed to another day, I hope it’ll be pushed to Tuesdays because that’s when all my other classmates have their CCAs too…
Anyway, I do dearly wish that the new year 2012 will be a very academically successful one because UNFORTUNATELY, I’m taking my General Certificate of Education Ordinary Level next year and I really wish that I could enter one of the most prestigious junior colleges or polytechnics in Singapore. That’s another problem for me because I have a HUGE headache choosing between going to a junior college and a polytechnic. In my opinion, both institutions have their advantages and disadvantages however, it will greatly affect my career path in the future.
I realised a long time ago that I will have to lose maybe 20 kilos of fat and 10 kilos of muscle because as many people know, I aspire to be a pilot, preferably a Singapore Airlines commercial pilot when I’m 30+ years old, and the FIRST step to become a pilot is most definitely getting the Private Pilot’s License (PPL). Singapore Youth Flying Club offers it for free to Singaporeans who fit the bill (those who are physically fit, top students, etc.). From then on, I’ll most probably be taking on a piloting job in the Republic of Singapore Air Force IF, and that’s a HUGE IF, I can… After I’ve served a few years in the Air Force, I truly want to go for my dream of becoming an SQ pilot.. But the most important step is definitely to get in tip top shape as soon as possible.
Singapore Youth Flying Club is selecting its cadet pilots as soon as we get our Preliminary Examination results soooo I’ll have to be fit by then! Come to think of it, being able to fly a plane before I can drive a car would be marvellous.. I mean how many people in the world are going to be able to do that??? I seriously need to take the opportunity and be 100% committed..
Singapore’s age limit for flying an airplane is 16 years old. But Singapore’s driving age limit is 21 years old!! I think Singapore has to seriously consider lowering its driving age limit. It’s quite terrible.. Singapore is raising its driving age limit and lowering its maximum driving age… This gives us Singaporeans fewer years to drive.. I really envy other countries.. I know the Singaporean government is implementing all these laws for our own good but still, it’ll be so much more enjoyable to stay in Singapore if we all could just drive when we’re younger and until we’re older!
Coming back to the topic to the new year 2012, I pray with all my heart that this new year will be a wonderful year for my family, friends and all. God bless and have a Happy NEW YEAR!!
